Organize contacts into groups and use them to target campaigns precisely.
Contact groups are the primary way to segment your audience in SalesWhiz. A group is a named collection of contacts — you create the group, add contacts to it, and then select that group as the audience when creating a campaign.
Groups give you precise control over who receives each campaign. For example, you might have groups for "VIP Customers", "New Subscribers", "Region: Jakarta", or "Category: Electronics Buyers".
Navigate to Dashboard > Contacts > Groups to manage your contact groups.
Click the Create Group button at the top of the groups list.
Give the group a clear, descriptive name that reflects its audience segment (e.g., "VIP Customers", "Abandoned Cart - January").
Click Save. The group is created empty and ready to receive contacts.
There are two ways to add contacts to a group:
Go to Dashboard > Contacts. Select one or more contacts using checkboxes, then click Add to Group and choose the target group.
Open any contact, click Manage Groups in the sidebar, and select which groups this contact belongs to.
To remove individual contacts from a group, open the group detail page (Dashboard > Contacts > Groups > [Group Name]), select the contacts to remove, and click Remove from Group.
Removing a contact from a group does not delete the contact — they remain in your Contacts list and can be added back or added to other groups at any time.
When creating a campaign, the Audience step asks you to select one or more contact groups. Every contact in the selected groups will receive the campaign message.
If a contact appears in multiple selected groups, they receive the message only once — SalesWhiz deduplicates recipients automatically before sending.
Rename a group by opening the group settings and editing its name. Renaming does not affect membership or any campaigns that have already used this group.
Deleting a group removes the group and all its memberships. The contacts themselves are not deleted — they remain in your Contacts list. Campaigns that have already sent using this group are not affected.
When importing contacts via CSV, you can assign a group in the import mapping step. All successfully imported contacts will be added to that group automatically.
